I want to tell you a story about a girl named teenage girl Rachel ( Click on all the bold links and they will take you to a picture and explanation of the highlighted word ) who began her life in Denver, Colorado. She grew up in Colorado, and was always happy and smiled as she looked out her window at the picturesque view. She lived in a average sized home and her family was doing well off until her father passed away when she was 10. Ever since then her mother has been struggling with money, among other things. She decided to move from Colorado to California so that Rachel could be closer to her grandmother who would help support her. Although Rachel's grandmother helps support her, she still had to live on a couch at her mother's friends house. She was only eating only soup every day and hardly had any clothes, but the ones I sent her. Her life was very tough, but she stayed happy and decided to come to Cabo San Lucas for vacation with my dad, my friend Meghan, and I. We had a great time! We went out to the bars every night and got treated like princesses! The No Where Bar was our favorite bar because they always had a table reserved for us. The beach was also beautiful there. It had crystal blue water and white sand and was filled with interesting characters. I wish I had a picture of him but, Dr. Sparky was the "water spraying man," who went around and sprayed girls who were laying out because it was so hott out. He was dressed in a white lab coat and had crazy hair. Sparky was a pretty goofy character, but it made the trip all the more interesting. We also stayed at a beautiful hotel that overlooked a view of the ocean and had gorgeous palm trees. Anyway, the trip was amazing but the whole point of including it in this story is because thats the moment my dad decided to ask Rachel if she would like to move to Maryland. Rachel thought about it for what seemed like only seconds before saying, "yes!" And then her and I talked about how much fun it would be, we would be like sisters! So Rachel decides to come to Maryland, but now has to revamp her wardrobe and entire life. She picks up her belongings and goes to Maryland, where she enrolls in high school and dance classes. At first, Rachel struggles with the differences between the West and the East Coast. She would say "Like totally," and get yelled at because no one talks like that in Maryland. Her style was different too. In Cali, it is much more laid back. Torn jeans and tight tattered T's is the style there, but in Annapolis it is much more classier and sophisticated. The transition period was hard for her but it is getting easier as she is now on the dance team at her high school and making new friends at her job. My dad has legally adopted her so it appears that Maryland will be her home for awhile now. She hopes to travel to Europe and live there for a couple months next.
Here is a map of the locations we travelled. I also included little stories with the places to add to this story and help connect the dots :0)
